I see the ego and arrogance as weakness. It just shows that a person is afraid to face their vulnerability. An egotistical person refuses to accept that they are just another one of the millions of human beings on this planet. 

We all fear death. The fact that our life is so fleeting drives us to want to find something that tells us our life MEANT something, that we impacted the world in some way in our short time here. 

Egotistical people either seek constant validation that they are an important person, or lie to themselves and blow their own heads up to such a size that the truth is no longer visible. The truth is we’re all just people. We’re just people, and not one of us is more important that the rest. We all are born vulnerable, and we all walk through life vulnerable to death with every step we take. When you accept your insignificance, you free yourself from the entrapment of the ego, and you generate strength that no alpha-male asshole can touch.
